Arbie Dee 'AD' Robinette
Arbie Dee “AD” Robinett
December 4, 1931 – May 28, 2023.
The Lord Jesus has called home Arbie Dee “AD” Robinett, often referred to as the sweetest, kindest man that most
people had ever known. Born on
December 4, 1931 in Izora, Texas, AD grew up on a small farm near Kempner.
He was a loyal friend, mentor, perfectionist and advisor to
everyone he met. He passed peacefully at sunset on the evening of May 28th. AD will join his wife Cleo who went to be with the
Lord in February 2017.
AD leaves behind his daughter Amanda and her husband Brad Nelsen, of Austin along with grandchildren Austin Nelsen with wife Kheili and great-grandson Wylder, Carson Nelsen with wife Jordan and great- grandson Otto, and granddaughter Hailey Nelsen, in Dallas. His son, Alton Robinett of Marietta, GA and grandchildren Alex Robinett with fiancé Jiney, and Zachary Robinett with wife Hillary.
At age 19 in 1951, AD married his high school sweetheart Cleo McGehee, and joined the US Navy that same year. AD served 4 years on the USS Tratheon as a Radar Man fighting in the Korean War while Cleo remained in Virgina Beach. Upon returning from service AD & Cleo settled in Lubbock where he was a lineman for Southwestern Bell, then he and Cleo moved to Killeen in 1959 with their two small children. In Killeen, AD joined his
father-in-law Tom McGehee in the butane and propane business, and soon expanded into air conditioning services and a full scale hardware store. AD operated the Killeen Hardware and Propane business with Cleo from 1968 – 1995 which gave him the ability to fix anything and everything. During their time in Killeen, AD served on the Killeen City Council, and they were both very
active with the First Baptist Church.
In 1995, AD & Cleo retired to Lake LBJ in Oak Ridge Estates. AD immediately became involved in everything Oak Ridge, maintaining and improving the neighborhood, and always
reaching out to assist anyone in the neighborhood with projects. Their home in Oak Ridge filled the summertime with their grandchildren teaching them how to fish, ski and enjoy the lake life. AD was always ready to take on a new chore or activity with his grand kids, and always there to tell them right from wrong. His kindness, generosity and love will be remembered by all who had the privilege to have known him.
A private graveside service for family and friends will be held in Lampasas.
Arrangements entrusted to the care of Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove.

ronald edward taylor
Sergeant First Class, Retired, Ronald Edward Taylor, a kindhearted, generous, intelligent, ethical man of great humor. was 72 years old in September, 2021, when he started to feel unwell. An aggressive, fast acting, cancer took his strength and then his life on January 21, 2022. In September he was riding his Indian motorcycle, playing with his dogs and ornery cat, and was everybody's go-to guy for any problem. By Christmas most of his strength was gone and he was a shadow of his former self. Even then, he never once complained. He did not rage against the dying of the light, but accepted each day with dignity and grace.
Ron was a leader and mentor of soldiers and he saw deployments to trouble spots around the globe. He worked tirelessly for his soldiers and earned accolades from all ranks. He routinely volunteered for holiday duty in order to free his soldiers who had children to be with their families.
Ron served 23 years in the Army, drove 18-wheelers, sailed a 40-foot sailboat up and down the east coast, was a police officer, an insurance adjuster and a middle school teacher. He once submitted an employment resume that caused the interviewer to exclaim "Damn, Mr. Taylor, is there anything you haven't done!"
The burial for Ronald Edward Taylor will be held on Monday, January 31 at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, Killeen, Texas at 3pm. A chapel service will be held at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home, Copperas Cove, beginning at 12pm.
We celebrate a life well lived by a man with a generous heart who saw the world around him as a joyful place, and who loved animals.
In lieu of flowers, please send any memorials to: Living Grace Canine Ranch, a Senior Dog Life Care Sanctuary, dedicated to saving, serving, and valuing the lives of displaced, unadoptable and unwanted Texas senior canines, in loving memory of all the animals loved by SFC Ronald Edward Taylor.
