The Lampasas Badger Baseball season is over and Coach Steven Hutcherson told us at KCYL and KACQ his summary of this season. The Coach stated that the Badger Baseball team had concluded its 2013 season and it was a season that had its successes and failures.
The season started with a good amount of success and putting the Badgers above .500. Coach said, “The team had already won more games in a season than in the previous 5 years. When the non-district schedule was completed the Badgers were 7 wins to 6 loses and had claimed the Consolation Championship of the Johnson City Tournament.”

The Lady Golf State Tournament in Austin is over and Lady Badger Morgan Rogers finished the tournament in seventh place. Morgan fought the cold and wind in the two day tournament shooting an 85 and an 83 for a total of 168 for the two rounds. The scores were not indicative of her low 70s rounds at the District and Regional, but due to the conditions it was certain she was a Battling Badger as she fought till the bitter end.
On Tuesday, May 7th, there will be a Parent Athletic Orientation Meeting at 6:30pm in the High School Cafeteria.
The meeting will be an informal, introductory gathering intended to acquaint parents of Lampasas ISD athletes
Last night the Lampasas Badger Soccer teams had their Soccer Awards program at the Hancock Golf Pavilion. The following awards were presented:

The NFL draft was completed and you can add another name to the roll call of former Copperas Cove Bulldawgs who have joined the National Football League. TCU wide receiver Josh Boyce went to the New England Patriots as a fourth-round pick on Saturday in the NFL draft. He was the fifth player selected in the round and 102nd overall.
While on the subject of the Copperas Cove Dawgs football, spring drills get underway tomorrow morning at the annex. The sessions will be capped on May 30 by the annual Blue-Gold intra-squad game at Bulldawg Stadium.

Area high schools had several athletes qualify in their respective regional meets.
The Badgers were in Lubbock and had outstanding performances from Shonderius Howard, winning the high jump with another leap of 6’6”, Steven Jazdyk finished second in the pole vault with a vault of 14’6” and Lady Badger, Julie Mize won the triple jump with a leap of 37’2”. All 3 will be going to the 3A state meet next week in Austin.
