Filing starts today for the May city council and school board seats in Lampasas County. There will be city elections in Lampasas, Kempner and Lometa, and school elections in the Lampasas and the Lometa ISD’s.  Filing to run for those seats is open and will continue until March 8th.  

Early voting will be run from April 26th to May 4th and regular election day will be Saturday May 8th.The seats that are up for grabs on the Lampasas City Council include Place 3 (Incumbent Evan Stubbs), Place 4 (Incumbent-Wanda Bierschwale), and Place 5 (Incumbent-Les Gerhardt). Filing will take place at City Hall on weekdays from 8am-5pm.

Lampasas ISD seats up for election are Place 4 (Incumbent-Kirk Whitehead) and Place 5 (Incumbent-Linda Floerke). Filing is at the school administration building weekdays from 7:30am-4:30pm.

Kempner City Council seats up include Mayor (Incumbent-Gene Isenhour), Place 1 (Incumbent-Paul Cook) and Place 5 (Incumbent-Melba Vandeveer). Filing will be at the Kempner City Hall weekdays from 9am-3:30pm.

Filings for Lometa City Council include Mayor (Incumbent-Cynthia Kirby) and two at-large seats (Incumbents Betty Poe and Chuck Lymber. There will also be a special election for the one-year terms of Incumbents Kyle Walton and Mario Maldonado.

Lometa ISD seats facing election are the three at-large positions currently held by Incumbents Steve Stone, Ben Leggett and John Hines. Filing is at the administration building weekdays 8am-4pm.
