At yesterday’s sale, 978 head came through the ring, 231 more than last week and 953 less than last year. All slaughter classes were steady to firm.
Dorper Ewes 100-150lbs brought $65-$80/cwt and set pairs brought $44 per head. Barbados Ewes 65-90lbs brought $40-$65/cwt and pairs brought $35-$40 per head.
Slaughter lambs prime 90-130lbs brought $90-$105/cwt and choice 40-80lbs $134-$170/cwt. Utility ewes 100-130lbs brought $50-$60/cwt. Slaughter bucks 125-200lbs brought $50-$60/cwt. Barbados lambs 40-70lbs brought $120-$140/cwt.
Slaughter kids 25-45lbs brought $156-$196/cwt, 45-60lbs brought $165-$180/cwt, and 60-80lbs brought $150-$172/cwt. Nannies 80-130lbs brought $60-$65/cwt and a few light weights brought $70-$90/cwt. Billies 90-200lbs brought $80-$90/cwt. Muttons 85-120lbs brought $100-$120/cwt.
Replacement nannies 80-110lbs brought $75-$95/cwt and pairs brought $43-$48 per head.
