Meteor Sighting Over Texas-Oklahoma
Thursday, 02 February 2012
Lampasas Radio’s Ronnie Witcher was one of the lucky ones to witness the meteor that crossed over the area last night. The meteor came through the sky at approximately 8pm.
Ronnie said he was driving home, facing north, it it was suddenly right in front of him. “It was large and
bright as a 4th of July skyrocket with a tail, but slower. What I saw of it lasted maybe 5 seconds, then it fragmented and disappeared. It looked like it might have came apart over Adamsville, but when I checked on the internet I was disappointed to find it was sighted all the way into Oklahoma.”
Keep looking up. February is supposed to be one of the most active months for meteor showers.
