Basketball

Varsity girls will head to Bastrop on Friday for their 7pm second round playoff game against El Campo. It will be at Cedar Creek High School’s gym.

The team needs a big crowd of fans in the gym. But, if you can’t make it, the game will be broadcast over KCYL 1450AM and online at lampasasradio.com at the listenlive KCYL stream site.

Varsity Boys

The Badger’s played their last game of the season last night against the top team in the district, Liberty Hill’s Panthers, and lost it 46-66. High points was turned in by senior Kolbe Penick with 18, followed by  Asiel Gary with 11, Jett Bramon with 7 and freshman Nate Borchardt had 6.

They finish the season 15-17 and 2-8 in district. It was well below what the team and coach, Aaron Nuckles, would have liked. But the year before, a big crop of seniors had graduated after a much better season ending record. It should be a brighter future next year as there are a number of starters that will return for the 2019/20 season.

The JV team also lost to Liberty Hill last night, 46-57, and the freshmen suffered a worse loss, 33-78.

Outstanding high points in that JV game came from Ryan Linney with 30 points. In the freshmen game Quinn Pace had 21 points.

Soccer

Varsity Girls varsity soccer team lost last night’s home conference game against rival school Burnet by a score of 5-1. The Girls will be working hard to get back a win. This Friday they will be playing Salado at home.

JV girls unfortunately fell to burnet 1-0 but will use that game a learning game. They play Friday at home against Salado.

Varsity Boys are now 4-0 in district. They took a 3-0 victory against Burnet last night in a rough match. Miller Boykin and Victor Castuita made the first score possible for our Badgers. The boys kept the tempo rolling though out the game and the team’s defense continues to play great games this season. The boys have a big match up at home this Friday as they take on Salado at 7:30pm. 

JV Boys beat the Burnet Bulldogs 2-0 last night. Andrew Grant and teammate Chris Guzman worked together to get the opening score of the game, followed by last goal of the game from Rafael Mendoza. The boys are 2-0-1 in district. The next game will be this Friday on Badger field at 4pm.

Baseball

Varsity boys traveled to Brownwood last night and ended up with a 4-4 tie. The Badgers caught the first run of the game in the second inning when Brooks setting the pace of the game by hitting a single to help score. In the top of the 9th the Badgers tied up the game after Ace Whitehead took advantage of a 3-0 count, driving his teammate in. Whitehead lead the Badgers in hits and went 2 for 3 at the plate. The boys will be playing against Killeen this Friday at home. Game time starts at 5pm

Softball

Both the Varsity and the JV girls fell to Rogers last night. The Varsity team will be traveling to Killeen Thursday-Saturday for a tournament. While the JV team isn’t too far away playing Thursday and Saturday in Cove.
