Lady Badgers Varsity(21-3) kicks off district play tonight in Salado. With a super pre-district season, the girls hope to keep it up in district play. That district would seem to have Lampasas at or near the top in most picks this year, though Burnet (18-5) is supposed to have a really good team and Liberty Hill (7-15) is always good. Salado (3-12) going into district is the underdog for tonight’s game, but you can never tell. Either way, the Lampasas girls seem to have something to prove this year and we’re betting on them in every game!
The 6:30pm game will be broadcast live with Lampasas Radio’s broadcast team of Darrell Brooks and Chuck Lowery covering all action of both Boys and Girls out of town games this year. Internet listeners should go to lampasasradio.com, then pick listen live on the menu and choose KCYL.
For in-town games, we urge you to join us in the bleachers to cheer on the Badgers.
The girls JV (13-9) will play at Salado Friday, at 5pm.
Freshman A team (16-3) will also play at Salado at 5pm.
The Varsity Boys Basketball team(12-9) has been in the gym this week. Coach Nuckles has welcomed the few days off to get ready for the busy district season. They have one more non-district game to play on Monday of next week, going up against Goldthwaite at about 5:45pm. After that, on Jan. 11th, they’ll go into district play, at Taylor, with game time at approximately 7:30pm. The boys district schedule is going to be tough, with Taylor having the best record so far at 16-3 in pre-season but Liberty Hill could be better with their 17-5 probably seeing them playing better teams in pre-season. Lampasas is probably seen as middle-of-the-pack so far…but watch this team go with some growing young talent.
JV(8-8) and the 9th team(12-4) will both play against Goldthwaite at 4:30pm on Jan. 7th.
Badger Soccer will see the Boys JV team playing today at home against Taylor at 7:15pm and the Varsity will head to Gonzales for a tournament.
The girls JV and Varsity will be at Leander Glenn today with 5:30 and 7pm games.
Badger Wrestling teams will be at the Cy-Fair Invitational at Berry-Cypress on the 4th and 5th of January.
