Lady Badgers Varsity finished their pre-season play with a 21-3 win-loss record.
Now it’s on to district play, beginning Friday at 6:30pm at Salado. The big problem with being ranked so high (#7 by the Texas Girls Coaches Association) is that you have a reputation to keep up. And, all the other teams will have you in their sights. That’s what the Badgers face as they go up against the Lady Eagles tomorrow.
The girls JV (13-9) will play at Salado Friday, at 5pm.
Freshman A team (16-3) will also play at Salado at 5pm.
Please Note** The Girls game at Salado will be broadcast live from the gym on Friday. Lampasas Radio’s broadcast team of Darrell Brooks and Chuck Lowery will cover all the Boys and Girls out of town games this year. For in-town games, we urge you to join us in the bleachers to cheer on the Badgers.
The Varsity Boys (12-9) went 2-2 in the recent Brownwood tournament and Coach Nuckles told us in his weekly show this week that the team is getting plenty of on-court action this week to get ready for district.
They have one more non-district game to play on Monday of next week, going up against Goldthwaite at about 5:45pm. After that, on Jan. 11th, they’ll go into district play, at Taylor, with game time at approximately 7:30pm.
JV(8-8) and the 9th team(12-4) will both play against Goldthwaite at 4:30pm on Jan. 7th.
Badger Soccer was confused a bit by weather over the last few days but Coach Ryan Race reports the boys Varsity team played at Jarrel on Monday against Shoemaker and lost 0-1, then played Taylor there and tied them 0-0. Coach notes that Taylor was a regional semi-finalist last year so he was proud of the tie. The upcoming schedule has the JV playing Friday against Taylor at 7:15pm here and the Varsity will head to Gonzales for a tournament.
The girls JV and Varsity will be at Leander Glenn on Friday, Jan. 4th for 5:30 and 7pm games.
Badger Wrestling teams will be at the Cy-Fair Invitational at Berry-Cypress on the 4th and 5th of January.
