Lady Badgers Varsity(23-4/2-1) picked up another win last night in Taylor, beating the Ducks 60-35 on their home court. The Lady Badgers came out early, outscoring 12-7 in the first period and finishing the first half ahead 35-17. The outscoring continued with a 3rd quarter ending 49-23 and a game ending 60-35. (Could NOT find the scores below/edited these lines)
Next Tuesday the Lady Badgers will play at home against the third team that is in the top half of district 27, and is equally as good as the other two – Burnet.
The Lady Bulldogs (2-1) are coming off a win against Eastside and are as ready as Lampasas to keep it going.
The Varsity game will be at 6:30pm, preceded by the JV at 5pm and the freshmen will play at 7:30pm.
The Varsity Boys Basketball team(13-10/0-1) lost to a strong Taylor team last night 38-59.
Taylor outscored Lampasas in every quarter except the last, and that was too-little too-late. Senior Kolbe Penick led the team in scoring with 11, followed by Ethan Rascoe and Asiel Gary with 8 each. Brenton Webb had 4, with 6 rebounds. Asiel Gary also had 5 rebounds.
The JV team(13-10/1-0) won their game 50-39 with Lane Haviland leading the way with 13, followed by Ryan Linney with 11 and Cody Richardson with 10.
The freshmen team (12-5/0-1) lost 43-45 to Taylor with Quinn Pace leading with 10.
On Tuesday, the team will be at home against Burnet, with game time at 7:30pm, preceded by the JV at 5pm and the freshmen at 6:15.
Badger boys soccer lost to Austin High 1-6 Friday night in a tough battle, according to Coach Race. Their next attempts will be in the Canyon Lake Cup on Jan. 17-19.
Coach Carl Gehring reported the Boys JV team lost to Austin High 0-3 last night. Like the varsity boys team, it was an uphill battle all the way. The team will get its next action in the Waco JV Cup next Thursday with three matches against bigger schools. Coach says they are looking forward to the challenge.
The Girls JV and Varsity will be in the Fredericksburg tournament thru today.
Badger Girls soccer will be at Gatesville Tuesday with the JV at 5:30pm and the Varsity at 7.
The Lady Badgers will be at the Battle by the Lake at Lake Travis HS on Saturday.
