The Annual Lampasas County Livestock Show kicked off early this morning at the show barn north of town. The Rabbit Show was the first up. After that the Food Fair will be the mid-day event, and in the late afternoon the Broiler Chickens will be taking up the space in the show ring.
Friday is the day for pigs, goats, sheep and ag mechanics projects that range from trailers to furniture and implements and barbecue grills. On Saturday it is the beef cattle shows with heifers and steers taking up the entire morning. On Saturday afternoon the barn is cleaned up for a buyer’s dinner and the annual Premium Sale follows.
This is the 82nd year of the Lampasas stock show and Lampasas Radio will be on hand to broadcast regular reports throughout the show - for the 35th year. Coverage will be broadcast over KACQ Radio at 101.9FM.
No School in Lampasas or Lometa ISD tomorrow due to the stock show and out of town basketball games.
