Monday, Sept. 10
Lampasas County Commissioners will meet Monday morning at 9am in the county courtroom, downstairs in the courthouse. On the agenda are regular reports and announcements, in addition to discussions on the jail project.
Lampasas ISD’s School Board has a 6pm meeting coming up on Monday at the district office on W. 8th street.
On the agenda is the Interlocal Agreement between the school and the City of Lampasas on the subject of School Resource Officers. They will also discuss hiring Design Services for expansion of the Culinary Arts and Automotive Technology programs, and they will hear reports on enrollment and an accountability summary.
Lampasas City Council will meet at 5:30pm for a workshop that will go into executive session to discuss a lawsuit the Kempner Water Supply Corp. has filed against the Central Texas Water Supply Corp. After the closed session they will discuss a Young Eagle Rally at the airport, repurposing a fire truck, advisory board vacancies and the upcoming Town Hall Meeting on Sept. 17th.
In regular session there will be a public hearing on using some right-of-way at Main and Spring Ho Ave. by Mike White of Advanced Window Tint, who is one of the City Council members.
Another public hearing will be on a request for a Specific Use Permit at 512 Briggs St. where a garage that was recently relocated from Key Ave. seeks a permit to fully operate their garage on Briggs St. It seems the spot is OK for minor auto repair at that location, but needed a permit for major auto repair, such as it was permitted at its Key Ave. location.
Matters of business for possible action include the ordinance on the City’s budget and tax rate, action on the above public hearing matters, requests from Vision Lampasas, the Chamber of Commerce and LAFTA for HOT funds for fall events, repurposing a fire truck, cart trail paving at the golf course, and possible contracting with a collection agency to begin collecting court fines and fees.
