DPS reports that a man in Kyle is in a lot of trouble. Tony Alberto Ponce-Zamora, 22 of Kyle, was driving his 2008 Dodge Ram pickup on CR157 Saturday night and hit a pedestrian, 32 yr old Micheal Delaney, evidently knocking him well off the road. A Hays Co. deputy arrived on the scene and didn’t see the pedestrian. He believed that the pickup had just gone off the road, and the driver didn’t tell him any different.

On Sunday morning the body of the pedestrian was discovered and the DPS was alerted. A nearby security camera caught part of the crash and the pickup and driver were quickly identified. DPS notes that the hit and run offense was heightened because the victim didn’t get medical attention which might have saved his life.

The Burn Ban has been lifted until Sunday, 9/23 at 7pm.
