Yesterday’s high 85° The morning low 71°
Rainfall at the airport was .17 in. on Thursday. Rainfall from about 2:30 to 4:30pm Thursday led to about an inch of rainfall in Bend and Lometa gauges.
Today: More rain! A 70% chance of the wet stuff coming down on our already wet world as the rain system we thought wouldn’t reach us until the weekend arrived early. Besides likely showers, the temperature should get into the low to mid 80s and the wind should be S-SE at 5-15.
Tonight: The 70% rain chance continues overnight in our forecast, however some area forecasts believe the chances decrease overnight. The low temperature should be about 71° and the SE wind will be light at 5 mph.
Saturday: More rain in the forecast, 70% chance early. That said, the wind will shift from south to N-NW in the afternoon and this should take some of the rain away. The high is forecast to be about 78°, depending on when the wind shift takes place.
Now…at 8:54pm it officially becomes fall, and right on time, this northerly wind arrives with a cooler evening.
Overnight, rain chances drop to 40%, with a low of 64° behind that N-NW wind of 5-10 mph.
The Long Range: Rainfall chances are 40% on Sunday, dropping to 30% Monday but back to 40% on Tuesday and Wednesday. as partly sunny skies appear with calm wind and a high reaching 88°.
Monday and into mid-week, as we dry out, the south wind will return along with higher temperatures. We expect around 90° to be afternoon norms. That will likely be uncomfortably humid for a day or two.
The long-long range forecast seems to say it’s anybody’s guess late next week. It seems there is a cold front arriving in Oklahoma about that time and they’re just not sure what it’s going to do. It might stop there and it might drift down into Texas and bring us the first cool spell
