Badger Football

Badger Varsity Football (2-1) heads for La Vernia today for a road game that should really test their mettle.

The Badgers will be up against the 3-0 La Vernia Bears, who’s scores in their three games were 47-13 over Sinton, 55-7 over S.A. McCallum and 41-14 over La Grange.

Their senior QB, #18 Clayton Chadwick, is 37 of 59 for 588 yards and 6 TDs. He also runs and has racked up 7 TDs that was, rushing an average of 132 yards per game. Chadwick has three main receivers, #2 Dulak, #6 Beltran and #7 Schrader and seems to divide that up pretty well. Dulak is the greatest threat on the long ball. The Bears have averaged 194 yards per game in passing yards.

Lampasas QB Ace Whitehead has a 45 of 68 pass completion rate for some 659 yards and 10 TDs with 2 interceptions. That compares favorably to the opponents in the passing department for record, but each game brings its own situations and outcome.                                                   This should be a good contest.

There is a scheduled 7:30pm kickoff for tonight. But, there could easily be rain problems so if you are heading to the game, take a raincoat and an umbrella.

If you opt to stay home, tune in to 1450AM or or to catch the game with Lampasas Radio’s Kenny and Darrell.
