Badger Varsity Football (2-1) will be back on the road Friday at La Vernia(3-0) for a 7:30pm start in their 4th game of the season. La Vernia appears to be a high scoring, very good, football team with an aerial assault. In statistics they are probably a little ahead of Lampasas …but not much, and the Badgers will certainly be looking for a turnaround after losing their last outing.
The district 14 team records so far show Canyon Lake as the only undefeated team while Lampasas, Liberty Hill and Fredericksburg follow with one loss each. Fredericksburg’s loss was to Kerrville Tivy and Liberty Hill lost to Hutto in a barnburner 52-51 contest that went into overtime. Lampasas lost last week to Lorena 35-14.
Badger 9th and JV teams will host La Vernia today with games at 5:30 and 7pm.
Middle School Football hosted Brownwood yesterday with the 7th grade teams both losing to the Brownwood teams. The 7B lost 30-0 and the 7A lost 14-0.
Next up for the MS teams will be Gatesville, here on Thursday, 9/27, with games starting at 4:30pm.
Badger Tennis will host Burnet in their second, and last, district match today at 4pm. After this one they will continue play with area teams up to mid October when it will be time for playoffs.
