Lampasas Police Dept. blotter for Tuesday showed a rash of vehicle burglaries at locations in the north part of town along Ridge and in the southwest part of town in the Diamond Ridge and Hoffpauir subdivisions. Burglaries were reported in the 700 and 800 blocks of N. Ridge, 200 block of N. Spring, 900 block of W. 6th, 2100 and 2200 blocks of Teton Ave. and Deb Lynn Ave. The burglary reports started to come in just before 6am Tuesday morning and continued into the afternoon as people checked their cars and trucks for possible entry and missing items.

One traffic stop arrest took place at 2:43pm when a 46 yr old man was arrested in the 300 block of N. Park for driving with an invalid license and no insurance.

Other reports in the afternoon included criminal trespass in the 1500 block of Hwy 281N and a suspicious person in the 2900 block of Hwy 281S at 6:04pm. There was also a report of drug paraphernalia on someone in the 300 block of S. Hackberry.

At 9pm a suspicious person report came from Barnes and Crider and another one in the 200 block of W. Ave E at 10:11pm, yet another at 11:21pm in the 600 block of CTE and another one in the 400 block of CTE at 11:27pm.

The Sheriff’s Dept. reports that Lometa had a disorderly conduct call and a fish and game call. Kempner checked out a suspicious person report and out in the county the deputies had animal complaints, a civil matter, an accident in the Cove city limits, some livestock issues and a shots fired call.

The Jail Log shows a 30 yr old Lampasas man arrested on a capias pro fine warrant, a 35 yr old Kempner woman on failure to appear warrants, and a 27 yr old Austin man for possession of marijuana.

A Burnet County Sheriff’s Deputy reportedly arrested a woman on RR 1431 yesterday. She was having problems with her overheated Nissan SUV and the Deputy stopped to help her about 3:15 in the morning. He ran the plates and found she had an outstanding warrant and expired registration. A Burnet K-9 unit was called for and the dog alerted. That led to a vehicle search that revealed 5.7 grams of methamphetamine, 4 grams of marijuana, a scale and a “meth” pipe. The Kingsland woman was arrested and bonded out the same day.

The Burn Ban has been lifted in Lampasas Co. until Sunday at 7pm.
