Sales taxes collected in Texas stores in July were submitted to the state in August and are now resulting in rebate checks back to the cities for their share of the tax. That resulted in checks that are very important to Texas cities’ budgets.
Lampasas check is for $148,196 and it was down .12% from last month’s check. Lometa’s check was down some 41% at $5,712 and Kempner’s check was $8,888, down 11.48%.
Some other reports such as San Saba showed checks way below a year ago. San Saba was down 36%.
