In a media release from Lampasas High School Principal Robert White, we learn that Addison White, a senior at Lampasas High, has advanced to the next round of competition and is now a semifinalist in the National Merit Scholarship Program.
This is the 64th year of the prestigious program that will disperse more than $31 million this spring.
Addison, like other entrants, had to take the SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test and that has qualified her to become a semifinalist. Now, she and the school must submit a detailed application with information about her academic record, SAT scores, awards and honors, and community/school activities.
Addison will learn if she moves to the Finalist level in February. Principal Robert White says they’re proud of Addison, especially since the only National Merit Scholar on record for Lampasas High was Ashlea Porter of the Class of 2017. They’d love to have another banner hanging in the cafeteria… in Addison’s honor.
