Saturday: Mostly sunny with a high near 98° and a heat index to 101°. S-SE wind about 10 mph.
Overnight, mostly clear skies and fairly good for star-watching. The S-SE wind will be 10-15 mph and gusting to 20 mph.
The long range forecast: Sunday brings mostly sunny and a high near 97º with 5-10 mph south wind. Basically the high pressure is stubbornly hanging around over Central Texas, keeping it hotter and dry right up to next Tuesday when it will get to triple digits or close to that.
Conditions are probably going to be high for wildfire danger this weekend.
The high pressure system is expected to move a bit by Wednesday. None of this appears to bring any rain chances but it could cool a little for the mid-week days.
Remember, Lampasas is still under stage 1 water conservation rules. If you water a lawn, do it in the evening or early morning, before sunup if possible.
