Lampasas Police Dept. blotter for Friday showed an arrest at 5:09am where 20 yr old Zachary Austin Kelley was taken into custody at the jail, charged on Lampasas PD warrants for two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child.
At 7:41am there was a disturbance in the 800 block of N. Ridge and at 10:43am a reckless driver on N. Hwy 183.
In the afternoon, at 5:57pm, there was a report of a violation of a protective order in the 600 block of S. Main and at 6:39pm a criminal trespass was reported in the 500 block of S. Walnut. At 7pm there was a disturbance in the 900 block of E. Ave. C.
At 8pm a 45 yr old Lampasas man was arrested in the 500 block of S. Walnut for indecent exposure and at 8:02pm a report of harassment came from the 1700 block of E. CTE.
At 8:36pm another arrest. This one in the 300 block of S. Hwy 281 where a 29 yr old man was charged with public intoxication and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
At 10:26pm more arrests for possession of marijuana, this time two 20 yr old local males in the 1200 block of S. Willis were charged with under 2 oz of marijuana.
Lampasas Animal Control reports that a Mexican Free Tail bat found in Lampasas has been confirmed as infected with rabies and residents are urged to report any others found in the area. The bat was found on the sidewalk at Third and Liveoak and turned over to authorities on Thursday. The bat was submitted for testing and was found to have rabies.
Do not touch any bat for any reason, dead or alive. Make sure that your animals are current on vaccinations.
The Sheriff’s Dept. Blotter shows Lometa had an alarm call. Kempner had several traffic stops, a couple of livestock calls, A animal call, a medical call, and a crash. Copperas Cove had a few traffic stops, and a prowler call. Lampasas had several traffic stops, a stolen vehicle, a couple of motor assist, a couple of civil matters, and a few animal problems.
A 23 yr old Lampasas man was arrested for failure to register as a sex offender. A18 yr old was arrested for a failure to appear charge. A 22 yr old Huntsville man for evading arrest with a vehicle.
