Charley Wright Isom Jr.68 of Lampasas, Texas passed from this earth on August 16, 2018 at Scott and White Hospital in Temple. Charley was born July 24, 1950 to Charley and Ida Mae (Curry) Isom in Brownwood, TX.
Throughout his life he was known for his charisma, strength and love of family. Charley graduated from Brownwood High School and Tarleton State College. While at Tarleton, he met the love of his life, Becky Klose.
After graduation they married and due to a shortage of Ag teachers in Georgia, Tarleton selected their top 15 graduates for teaching positions in Georgia. The family took that opportunity and moved to Georgia where Charley taught Ag and Becky taught Kindergarten.
After 2 years in Georgia, they moved back to Lampasas where Charley went into the dairy business and ranching with his father-in-law. Charley and Becky took over the dairy in 1974 and continue its operation today. Charley was selflessly devoted to the dairy, ranch and his family with a passion that was undeniable to anyone who knew him. He will certainly be missed by everyone who knew him, as he never met anyone who didn’t part as his friend.
Charley is survived by his wife, Becky Isom; two sons, Trampus Isom and Kelli, and Pepper Isom and Kate Waldrop; three grandsons, Preston, Cayhill and Olson. He is also survived by 6 brothers, John, Willie, Daelas, Harold, Ronald and James and 2 sisters, Alpha Doyle and Lucy Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents and by one brother and one sister.
