An interesting new face in the national political arena will arrive in Lampasas this morning.
Beto O’Rourke will be at the Lampasas Hostess House for an 11:30am “Town Hall” style meeting. The charismatic El Paso Democrat is a sitting member of the U.S. House of Representatives where he serves on the House Committees for Armed Services and Veterans Affairs and focuses on improving veteran’s health care and benefits. He also claims a need to curb the influence of corporate money in Congress.
Now, Beto O’Rourke is running for Ted Cruz’ seat in the U.S. Senate. Beto’s stay in Lampasas today should last about an hour as he’s scheduled to be at Horseshoe Bay for a similar session shortly after that, and then on to Austin for a “Bands with Beto” session. The next morning the whirlwind campaign swing will see him in San Antonio.
