Lampasas County Commissioners will have a full plate of meetings next week, starting at 9am on Monday, as they wrestle, not only with matters such as the resignation of Constable Forrest Spence, but also with Sheriff’s and Constable’s Fees, a fund request from the Lampasas County Higher Education Center (LCHEC) and agreements with TX Agri Life and County Welfare, County Policies, a local option election for JP Precincts 2 and 3, procedure changes for the use of the County Courthouse and Annex rooms…and the Jail Project. After that morning session they’ll be back at 1pm for a Department Head meeting.
Then, there’s also the upcoming budget that will see the Commissioners in budget workshop sessions on the 15th at 1pm and back on the 16th at 8am.
Lampasas City Council will meet at 5:30pm on Monday for a workshop session that will see them discussing the final stages of the 2018/19 budget preparation, also a discussion of the Chamber of Commerce Tourism and Visitor Center Agreement and an upcoming Town Hall meeting. In a regular session at 7pm they will have some public hearings, one on zoning and another on the proposed budget. There will also be discussion on the construction work at the Old City Hall building, the bank depository, Chamber of Commerce funding and the new budget and tax rate for FY 2018/19.
Kempner City Council meets on Tuesday at 7pm in City Hall. They will discuss several items having to do with finances and their upcoming new fiscal year budget and tax rate.
Democratic Candidate Beto O’Rourke, running for the U.S. Senate seat now held by Ted Cruz, will be in Lampasas this Thursday, Aug. 16th. O’Rourke will be at the Lampasas Hostess House at Hancock Park for an 11:30am to 1pm Town Hall type meeting that is hosted by the Lampasas County Democratic Party.
