William “Dub” Gunn, 92 of Goldthwaite and formerly of Mesquite passed away on Tuesday,
May 22, 2018 in Goldthwaite. Mr. Gunn was born September 28, 1925 in Eastland, TX to the late William Anderson Gunn and Docia Parten Gunn. He married Helen Jacobs on March 17, 1949 in
Brownwood, TX. She preceded him in death in February 2014. He was a retired police officer, first working with the San Angelo Police Dept. before accepting a job with the Department of Public Safety to work as a polygraph examiner, and later returning to police work with the Mesquite Police Department and later as head of security for Zales Corporation.
Visitation for William “Dub” Gunn will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home in Goldthwaite. Graveside services with military honors will
be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Rudy Rudewick officiating.
He is survived by two sons, Bill & Susan Gunn of Lucas, TX, Charles Gunn of Goldthwaite, daughter Becky and Bob Gates of Harlingen, TX, 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister , Elizabeth Powers of Monahans, TX. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital, 2222 Welborn St., Dallas, TX 75219 or the charity of the donor's choice.
