From one time AD and Head FB Coach here for about 5 years to a return as an Assistant Principal, and now the new Lampasas HS Principal, Joey McQueen seems to be a fixture among the students and staff at Lampasas High
The official announcement was made on Tuesday by Dr. Chane Rascoe, Lampasas ISD Superintendent. McQueen’s official position as Principal will take effect after the end of the semester in January.
Dr. Rascoe told Lampasas Radio that in his opinion, the choice of Joey McQueen for the position seemed ideal. He’s had a connection with the community, some 30+ years as an educator, with the vast majority of that as a football coach, including his year’s here back in 2009-2012 when the Badgers went to the playoffs twice. And, there’s plenty of enthusiasm and leadership ability there.
Moving McQueen from Assistant Principal up to the Principal position required the placing of a new Assistant Principal. That came in the naming of Paul Weinheimer, math teacher and former coach, to the vacant “Assistant” slot. He has been with LHS since 2013.
Along with selection in these two positions, Dr. Rascoe expressed his appreciation to Dick Parker, former Superintendent here, who has served as interim H.S. Principal, pending the end of semester resignation of Principal Robert White.
