Lampasas Police Dept. blotter for Tuesday showed a minor accident in the 2700 block of S. Hwy 281 at 7:46am. At 7:49am there was a suspicious vehicle in the 100 block of E. 9th.
A missing person was reported in the 500 block of S. Walnut at 12:16pm and a criminal trespass was reported in the 800 block of N. Ridge St. at 2:08pm. At 3:20pm there was another minor accident in the 400 block of S. Pecan and yet another minor crash in the 1700 block of CTE at 5:10pm.
The evening was quiet except for one suspicious activity report in the 200 block of S. Broad at 7:11pm.
The Sheriff’s Dept. Blotter shows Lometa with a structure fire, a few civil matters and a suspicious person. Kempner was dispatched on a burglary, a disturbance and animal complaints. Out in the county there were civil matters.
The Jail log shows the county booked a 19 yr old Victor John Vargas of Lometa on a charge of solicitation of a minor under 14.
Lampasas Firemen joined the Lometa VFD on a structure fire just before 10am at 810 N. 6th in Lometa. A resident, using a kitchen range to heat the room, had a cat that knocked a box over on the stove. The burning box started another fire and in the end the house was a total loss.
Lampasas Firemen joined the Kempner VFD in a call this morning at 5:16am to the Shell station in Kempner. A motor home parked behind the business had caught fire and was a total loss. While on that scene the firemen were called to another fire on Sikes Dr. where a structure that turned out to be in Coryell Co. and taken over by Cove F.D. was also a total loss.
The DPS Reminds Texans to prepare for winter weather, saying that cars traveling down highways should flashlights, cell phones, windshield scrapers, blankets, sleeping bags, etc. Just in case, they get in a stalled situation on a cold, icy roadway.
The Burn Ban was lifted again Monday for one more week.
