Sales Tax Checks “in the mail” for Cities

Texas State Comptroller Glen Hegar reports that sales tax collections statewide in October amounted to some $2.6 Billion.

Cities, Counties, Transit Systems, and Special Purpose taxing districts are getting checks now for their part of the collections, some $761 million worth. The payments, according to Hegar, average 9.5% higher than the same period last year.

Local checks that are now in or in the mail are:  

Lampasas County $67,590                              Up 10.23%

City of Lampasas $155, 655.           Up 10.03%

City of Lometa $5,988                      Down 4.31%

City of Kempner $7,415                    Down 14.11%

City of San Saba $39,301                 Down 11.94%

City of Burnet $163,117                    Up 16.31%

City of Copperas Cove $444,099    Up 18.45%

City of Gatesville $169,547              Down .03%                  City of Goldthwaite $35,237     Up 8,57%
