This Week in Lampasas

Today at 9am Lampasas County Commissioners will be in their regular monthly session in the courthouse. The agenda appears to be fairly short, discussing regular reports and hearing presentations, then some discussions on the Jail Project.

This should be the final “official session” for both County Judge Boultinghouse and Commissioner Jim Lindeman.

At Noon Today the Lampasas Police and Fire Departments are holding their annual Holiday Lunch and Toy Drive.

Taylor Creek Elementary is having their Christmas Around The World celebration and Peppermint Village Christmas Shop this evening from 5:30 to 7:30pm.

Lampasas City Council will meet in workshop at 5:30pm, then regular session at 7pm. They are expected to discuss economic development prospects, then projects, in particular the ongoing Old City Hall remodeling project that is beginning to see some sort of finality.

Also on Monday’s agenda is a public hearing on a rezoning of 5.22 acres to allow for an assisted living facility, the second reading of an ordinance that would abandon public utility easement behind 401S. Chestnut where Ramp Automotive used to be. They’ll also discuss Ramp Automotive’s requests to operate their shop at the new location they have at 512 Briggs St.

Oil States is joining with Rollins Brook Hospital this week for Carter BloodCare Drives. Donors can give blood from 6a to 10a at the Carter Blood Care bus in Oil State’s parking lot on Tuesday, Dec. 11th.

The next day, Wednesday, the bus will be at Rollins Brook hospital from 10am to 2pm for donors’ convenience.

The 4th Annual Dinner&Show for Perception Creative Arts will take place on Wednesday, starting at 6:30pm with a private dinner by Yumm Again, then live music and a viewing of the art entries for the 12X12 Yumm Rocks Art Show.
