Three people, from three different vehicles were taken by ambulance to Rollins Brook ER last night. The crash took place around 10:35pm in the middle of the Mesquite Creek bridge, a few miles south of Lampasas on Hwy 183 in Burnet Co.
A bystander said one car and a pickup truck had collided almost head-on there on the bridge, then a car approaching from the south headed toward Lampasas had crashed into the already wrecked vehicles.
Debris was scattered all over the bridge and firemen and rescue crews, along with wreckers, went to work trying to get the highway opened back up for traffic. That evidently took some time and caused quite a backup. The injured people taken to the hospital were thought to have non-life threatening injuries.
