This Week

Lampasas Public Library is having a Food Drive thru Friday. They are accepting canned goods and other items for the Lampasas Mission. A list of the most needed items is available at the library. For more info: 512-556-3251

Lampasas Fire Dept. is collecting toys and money for their annual Christmas toy drive. Any items you want to donate can be left at the local fire station on 4th Street, or at any of the area county fire departments.  Firemen tell us bicycles are a big thing but they need toys for all ages.

Families with children who find themselves in need of help at Christmas time can make application at any of our local churches. The items will be distributed on Dec. 15th from 7:30 to 10am.

The Lampasas County Museum was accepting entries Monday for the Decorated Christmas Tree Contest. On Thursday they’ll accept entries for the Gingerbread House Contest.

The Carol of Lights on Saturday

Our Annual Carol of Lights Festival begins on Saturday with Christmas music and events all afternoon, leading into the climax of the Lighted Christmas Parade Saturday evening.

The theme this year is “A Barnyard Christmas.”

The lighting of the Court House and introduction of dignitaries will take place at about 6pm and the Flames Drill Team will perform after that, along with Christmas Carols.

The Lighted Christmas Parade will take place at 6:30pm with Grand Marshalls David and Sheryl Hausmann pretty close to the front of the caravan. That should reach the square between 6:45 and 7pm.
