It’s Christmas on the Creek time from now until after the holidays. The Lampasas County Museum is accepting entries tomorrow and Monday for their Decorated Christmas Tree contest and on Nov. 29th for their Gingerbread House contest, and it will all culminate, along with lots of other festivities, on Dec. 1st, next Saturday, in downtown Lampasas.

That’s when our biggest of all Christmas event takes place, the Courtyard Square lighting of the courthouse, and the annual Lighted Christmas Parade. There’ll be lots going on all day that day, but the big events begin at 6pm at the bandstand with the “lighting” and after that, at about 6:30pm, the parade will begin. Somewhere around 6:40 or so, the floats, along with Santa, will be coming down 3rd St. onto the square. After the parade, there will be caroling, browsing and shopping and visiting with friends and old acquaintances.
