Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day and what’s it all about?
Thanks! Thanks for life, for family, for whatever we consider as reasonable health and well being and prosperity.
Thanks for the food we are about to partake of; the roasted turkey and God bless that cornbread dressing and the giblet gravy poured over it. And may the skill of making it just right, like mama used to, never be lost to our society. And although it’s not everybody’s favorite, may we as a people struggle to keep the tradition of cranberry sauce alive on this special day. And Lord, most of all, bless all those cooks that bake at least two or more pecan pies so there’s some left over for tomorrow. Amen!
Leave early if you can, if you’re traveling for the holiday, and drive a little slower and watch out for the other guy. There will be lots of traffic and a good many accidents on Texas highways. Don’t be in one of them, Drive Defensivly!
Get to the grocery store as early as possible today! There will probably be long lines late this afternoon and evening.
Remember, Thursday is a holiday for the trash man. That means Thursday pickup is moved to Friday and Friday to Saturday. Depending on your situation, you could be stuck with a lot of turkey day trash so be sure you’ve got bags on hand to keep it an extra day.
