It’s Monday and Thanksgiving Week

Last week finished great with Lampasas winning the big Bi-District football honors in a tough, physical game against Brazosport in Bryan’s Merrill Stadium.

The prize was one more trip to the playoffs, this Friday at 7:30pm in Round Rock’s Kelly Reeves Stadium. The opponent will be the La Vernia Bears.

It will be another tough game, against a top state-ranked team that narrowly beat Lampasas in a pre-district game by a close 51-50 margin. La Vernia is seen by Texas Football magazine as the challenger to Liberty Hill for the State Championship, but they will have to get by Lampasas first and this Badger team has proved to be one that just doesn’t quit.

Stay tuned for more on this Badger playoff bid.

Lampasas County Commissioners are having a called meeting this morning at 11am in the Courthouse. They’ll canvas the Nov. 6 Election Results, approve an order declaring the result of the Local Option Election, Approve some Motorola Radios for the new jail, and look at an agreement with the City of Copperas Cove providing for emergency telecommunications equipment in that City, but within Lampasas County.
