Badger Football

What a game! The Badgers played hard and smart on Friday in that close 49-47 victory over Fredericksburg.

The unofficial stats show:

The Badgers 462 yards total offense,  Billies 422 yards

Lampasas rushed for 203 yards, Billies 287

Lampasas passed for 259 yards, Billies 135

Badger QB Ace Whitehead completed 23 of 30 passes

Billies QB  Hobbs Price completed 10 of 17

Badger Cameron Everts rushed for 71 yards and caught 6 passes for 80 yards and 2 TDs.

Badger Jaylon Porter caught 10 passes for 120 yards and 1 TD.

Badger Jack Jerome rushed for 139 yards and 1 TD, and caught 1 pass for 17 yards.

Badger defenders Clayton Bever and Case Brister also scored TDs.

Hooray for the Badgers, the first winning record for LHS since 2011. And, imagine next year as a lot of these guys will be back next year and our JV team had a great year.

The Bi-District game against Brazosport sees Lampasas facing another district and it’s hard to make comparisons, other than the fact that Brazosport was number 3 in their district, but barely, as they were tied with the number two except for losing to them by 1 point. Technical stats would show Lampasas to be the favorite, but again, that’s hard to tell. Brazosport stats show they run more than they pass, Lampasas passes a lot.

It’s a 7:30pm game in Bryan on Friday. Enjoy the trip if you make it, if not, tune in to Lampasas Radio, KCYL 1450AM or for the play by play.
