Monday is Columbus Day and it will bring a holiday for Lampasas and Lometa ISD students.

State and County Offices will also be closed but the City of Lampasas will be on duty as usual.

Lampasas City Council will meet at 5:30pm on Monday with a workshop session. On the agenda is discussion on the Spring Street Pump Station and rehab on the Nix Road water tank, along with advisory board appointments.

There will also be a closed session on evaluation of the City Secretary position and possible action on that in a special session.

In regular session at 7pm there will be public hearings on a Specific Use Permit for 101 N. Key for a car dealership and for a Smoke/Tobacco Shop or Vapor Store at 203 S. Key and for a possible rezone of 18.27 acres at 1100 Crider Lane from Agricultural to Single Family Residential – 8.

The Spring Ho Committee will be requesting HOT funds in the amount of $5,000 and there will be votes on the zoning matters from the public hearings, along with discussion and votes on the final plat of the DLF Addition. They will discuss an agreement with Jones Heroy Engineering on an updated water conservation and drought contingency plan as well as preparation and submittal of a wastewater  discharge permit application.

Tuesday:

Lampasas County Commissioners will meet at 9am Tuesday morning.  On the agenda are some announcements, a proclamation and a resolution, then approval on financing options for purchase of Sheriff’s vehicle and a truck for the County Volunteer Fire Dept.. Another financing matter will be to change the payment occurrence from monthly to annual on new Sheriff’s Office communications equipment recently purchased.

The Lometa School Board will meet on Tuesday at 6:30pm at the school library. On the agenda are recognitions and a proposal from the Superintendent of Windham Schools concerning having Lometa ISD provide instruction at a prison facility, then a possible agreement with Live Oak Public Finance for advisory services, a school bus purchase, some bookkeeping matters and administrative reports.

Wednesday

Wednesday brings the Fields of Faith Event at Badger Stadium at 6:45pm.

Saturday

The Fall Fest, downtown Lampasas will kick off at 9am and run until 3pm with plant related speakers and vendors and topics such as bird watching and tips from Master Gardeners. Vendors will be selling plants, honey and jelly, artisan bread, etc.

 The 24th annual Artober Fest will begin at the Hanna Springs Sculpture Garden at Campbell Park at 10am and run to 5pm with lots of activities and vendors, including a wine and beer garden.

The Little Mermaid Performance at the High School Cafetorium will kick off at 7pm on Saturday and repeat on Sunday at 2:30pm.
