A new report out by the WalletHub Study group shows that, in 2016’s Presidential Election, Texas came in 49th in the % of registered voters with only 61.4% of the voting age population casting a ballot. If you go back to the last Mid-term Election, Texas only had 36.4% of its eligible voters casting ballots. That came in 47th of all states.
The why? of all this could be tied to many things, including the fact that Texas came in 38th of all states in Voter Accessibility Policies. But, it’s pretty easy to figure out that personal responsibility is huge in people getting registered and getting to the polling places.
