The Blotter

Lampasas Police Dept. blotter for Monday showed relative quiet with the exception of calls and problems with high water. An assault by threat took place on Park Lane at 10:16am, then at 3:35pm two thefts were reported in the 2700 block of Hwy 281S. There was one minor accident in the 1300 block of S. Key at 6;34pm.

More heavy rain in Lampasas brought closing of the low water crossings in town.

Another closing, though unrelated to rain problems, comes from the BNSF Railroad. They have closed the railway crossing on Third Street for rehab on the tracks and no traffic will be allowed to cross. The rehab should continue through about 1pm on Wednesday when they will reopen the crossing. The crossing on 580E will remain open during this time period.

The Sheriff’s Dept. Blotter shows Lometa with a quiet day while Kempner just had a couple of welfare checks in the bad weather. Out in the county there was an accident, a game and fish problem, a civil matter and a dispatch to Copperas Cove to investigate a theft, an alarm and an intoxication call.

The Jail Log showed a 61 yr old Cove man arrested for assault, public intoxication and another, out of county, charge.

The Burn Ban was lifted again Monday for one more week.
