Lampasas Museum Exhibition on “City Streets” Opens During Spring Ho

Lampasas, Tex. – The Lampasas County Museum will open with a special exhibition titled Enjoy the Journey: Traveling Lampasas County on Friday, July 7, at 10am. The exhibition will run through the summer. The museum is open Fridays and Saturdays from 10am to 4pm and is free of charge.

The museum’s exhibition complements the theme of this year’s Spring Ho festival and explores the history of street names in Lampasas, Lometa, and Kempner. Visitors will learn about street-naming conventions in the U.S. and why some seemingly random street names were chosen. The exhibition begins with Lometa at the north end of the county and ends with Kempner.  Old Town Lampasas as well as newer additions are examined.

The Lampasas County Museum is a nonprofit organization at 303 South Western in the city of Lampasas. For more information, call 512-556-2224.
