Today: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny with a high near 94° and heat index values to 99°. South wind between 10 and 15 mph with gusts to 20.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 74° and south wind 5-15 mph.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 96° and heat index to 100. S-SW wind 15 mph with 20 mph gusts.

Rest of the week: Friday night down to 75, then up to 97° on Saturday – or higher. Sunday will bring sunshine and up to 97° again, and it goes on from there with sunshine and summer heat for the foreseeable future.

The Blotter

Lampasas Police Dept. blotter shows a theft in the 1700 block of E. CTE, a disturbance call from the 1100 block of E. 4th and some suspicious vehicle reports from the 1700 block of E. CTE and the 200 block of S. Chestnut. There was a domestic disturbance to settle in the 1300 block of E. CTE and suspicious activity in the 800 block of W. 1st. No accidents were reported and no arrests made by LPD.

Lampasas Sheriff’s Dept. blotter showed Lometa with a call on a suspicious person and Kempner worked on a theft report, then an assault and a disturbance with some other threat reports. Out in the county there were disturbances and Copperas Cove had a sex offense to investigate. The jail log shows an arrest on a 34 yr old Lometa man, Fred Bryan Snyder Jr., for theft of property.

The Burn Ban is lifted until 7pm on Sunday, June 18.
