Today: A 20% chance of rain today, otherwise mostly cloudy with a high of 85° and calm turning to east wind at 5 mph.

Tonight: A 20% chance of rain and cloudy skies with a low around 68° and east wind 5-10 mph.

Wednesday: A 30% chance of rain under mostly cloudy skies with a high near 85° and light east wind going SE 5-10 mph. The rain chances go up to 50% Wednesday night.

The rest of the week: The long range forecast rain chances for Thursday are 60% but that goes away by dark, dropping to 20% chances through Friday night. But, it seems to come back again as we get into next weekend.

The Blotter

  • On Saturday there were calls on a prowler on N. Willis, a reckless driver report on S. Hwy 183, a fraud on E. 5th, harassment on N. Hackberry and a disturbance on E. 7th. A 48 yr old Lampasas man was arrested in the 600 block of N. Ridge at 2:23pm on a warrant for credit/debit card abuse and for evading arrest. A 23 yr old Copperas Cove male was arrested in the 400 block of N. Walnut for possession of marijuana under 2 oz at 8:59pm. On Sunday there were calls for harassment on Snell Drive, a reckless driver on CTE, an assault on 4 St., a civil matter on Castleberry and a noise disturbance at Cloud and Brown. There was a minor accident at 2:16pm in the 2200 block of Hwy 281 and there was one arrest as a 17 yr old female was arrested in the 300 block of E. 4th at 4:46am on warrants for theft of property under $100 and MIP Tobacco. On Monday there was an assault case in the 200 block of W. 6th and harassment in the 200 block of S. Park, then reckless driver reports on Hwy 183 S. and Hwy 281 S.. There was a theft in the 800 block of S. Key and harassment in the 600 block of N. Key. Accidents took place at 3:57pm in the 1700 block of CTE and at 8:42pm at Key and Ohnmeiss. There were no injuries in either incident.
  • Lampasas Sheriff’s Dept. blotter for Saturday showed a reckless driver report and a pursuit in Copperas Cove city limits. There was a reckless driver report about noon in Kempner and a citizen complaint in Lometa, a civil matter out in the county, a disturbance in Cove, a civil matter in Kempner, then another reckless driver report in Lampasas and a disturbance about 10pm Saturday night. The arrest log for Saturday showed a 37 yr old Kerrville man arrested Saturday evening for DWI. On Sunday, about midnight, there was a reckless driver incident in Copperas Cove and a short time later a crash was recorded in the county. There was an attended death reported in the county about 4:30am and at 9:30am there was a civil matter out in the county. A reckless driver was reported in Lometa at 8:48 pm. The Sunday jail log shows a DWI arrest book in at 1:28am Sunday morning of a 29 yr old Kempner man.
