A Roundup of Badger Sports Badger Track

Badger Ball Teams
Lady Badgers Softball season is over as Giddings proved they were more than a match for Lampasas. Giddings launched a barrage of hits in the first inning to score 5 runs and it continued for 4 more innings until they had 13 on the scoreboard by the end of the 5th. Lampasas was not able to get the big hits when needed and other than Kamri Corbin’s homer in the 2nd and three runs in the 3rd, the girls weren’t able to make much headway. Lampasas had 12 hits to Giddings 17. In addition to Kamri Corbin’s big homer, there were 2 doubles and an RBI by Kloe Corbin. Sloan Johnson had a single and 2 RBIs, Kyndal Moyer, Calley Reding and Natalie Denoso had two singles each and Blakli Brookreson and Collyn Schuricht had a single each. Congratulations to our girls for yet another playoff season and a lot of fun for fans.

Badger Baseball finished its season Friday with a 1-4 loss to the Salado Eagles. They now go into the playoffs as the number 4 team in the 7 team district with a 6-6 record and have a 16-10
overall season record. That puts them up against Giddings, who came out winner in
District 20 with a 9-3 district and 14-11 overall record. Giddings was an area finalist last year and has a couple of all district players from that team. The Playoff Series will be in Austin, beginning on Friday, with a 6:30pm game at Westwood High’s Warrior Field. That’s generally
near the Lakeline Mall but across 620. That Friday game will be followed by a second game on Saturday at 11:30am, and if needed, the third game decider will follow immediately afterward.

Badger Tennis is sending four team members to the State Tennis Tournament on May 18 and 19 at Texas A&M University. They are our Regional Champion doubles team of Cassidy Gillis and
Nora Lawson and our Runner-up Regionals team of Timothy Cavalieri and Garrett McGuire.
