Lady Badger Softball is in the midst of a tournament at Bangs. In the first game on Thursday the girls were able to pull off a 14-0 shutout over Brady, in spite of the fact that four team members were away at the track meet and two more were out with the flu. On day two Friday they again came up with a win in their early game against Hawley 13-3. Kloe Corbin hit a homerun that also brought in two more runs with it. She had 4 RBIs for the day, along with H Greenberg’s 2 RBIs. Collyn Schuricht went 4 innings on the mound with 3 strikeouts.

The team then went on to close out the night with a 7-3 win over San Angelo Lakeview, which wasn’t as easy as the score makes it sound. Coach Drew Cleavinger said the team had to work for every run, but they “were able to string together some good solid hits. Cally Reding went all 6 on the mound with 6 strikeouts to her credit. Cally also led in RBIs with 3. Blakeli Brookerson had 1, and led the team in QABs (quality at bats) with 4. The team did struggle defensively, making several errors to allow some runs to score. They “cleaned it up to bring home the 3rd win for the tournament,” Cleavinger said and they’ll be back today for the last game of the tournament.
