Atlanta Falcons fans, get over it. Them things happen. Tom Brady and the Patriots – Congratulations! What a win!

The Running Badger Basketball team is going into a regrouping mode this week after a tough 43-54 loss on Friday to the Burnet Bulldogs. The Badgers went into Friday’s game undefeated, but the Bulldogs only loss of the season had been to the Badgers in a 49-48 squeaker. It was a thing you just knew had a big possibility of happening-Burnet coming back with a win in their second meeting. Technically now, the Badgers fall to number two, because Burnet’s schedule had included more games at this point in the season, but also perhaps because the point spread in Friday’s game was bigger for the Bulldogs.

No matter how you look at it, the Badgers now have to work hard to win all three games left on their schedule. Those games are Liberty Hill on Tuesday, then Taylor and Salado. Perhaps the biggest test comes in tomorrow’s game against Liberty Hill.

The standings in District 19 now look like this:

Burnet9-1         Still has Glenn and Liberty Hill

Lampasas 8-1     Still has Liberty Hill, Taylor and Salado.

Liberty Hill 7-2Still has Lampasas, Glenn and Burnet

Taylor 4-5           Still has Llano, Lampasas and Glenn

Salado 3-7

Glenn 2-7

Llano 0-9

The Badgers game at Liberty Hill on Tuesday will tip off at 6:30pm. The game will be broadcast on KCYL 1450AM and on the internet at LampasasRadio.com.

Lady Badger Basketball followed the Badger Boys Varsity in losing to Burnet on Friday 32-57. They will also travel to Liberty Hill on Tuesday for an 8pm matchup with the league leading (11-0) Liberty Hill Lady Panthers. These opponents are rated as number 3 in state rankings in at least one of the polls. The Lady Badgers are now 3-8 in district play.

This will be the Lady Badgers last game of the season and it will be broadcast over KCYL 1450AM.

Badger Boys Soccer got the win last Friday in overtime. They beat the Jarrell Cougars 1-0 in a hard fought match. They will play Leander Glenn on Friday.
