The Running Badger Basketball team ended their season last Friday in Waco as they lost the Area playoff game to Athens 66-68. Congratulations again, to the team for their tremendous season, and thanks to all our sponsors for allowing us to broadcast the out-of town games to the fans. In case you’re wondering, Burnet and Liberty both lost their area round games too. Burnet lost to Lorena 69-73 and Liberty Hill lost to La Vega 71-77. Navasota lost to Connally, so the Region 3-4A teams still alive are Connally, Athens, Yates, Huffman, Lorena, La Vega, Silsbee and North Forest.

The District Champion Lometa Hornets Basketball team had tough luck in their playoff game with Lingleville, losing it 44 to 59. Congratulations on a great year, Hornets! Region 3-1A teams still alive are Iredell, Lipan, Yantis, Ector, Lingleville, Graford, Saltillo and Slidell.

Lady Badger Softball was in the La Grange tournament last week with a 3-3 record. On the last day, Saturday, they split games, beating Corsicana 12-2 in the 3rd inning. The afternoon game against Hays consolidated didn’t go as well with the team dropping that one in a low scoring game 1-2. Kloe Corbin and Kyndal Moyer made the All Tournament team. The girls will head to Bangs for another tournament Thursday thru Saturday.

Badger Baseball had less than hoped for results at the Copperas Cove Tournament last week, winning their first day 8-0, then losing a close one on their second 2-3, but based on scores got a bye and went to the Saturday playoffs. They came back to play the team they’d beat on the first day, but the wheels fell off and they dropped the game 1-18. That sent them to a third-place contest with San Angelo Lakeview. They took a lead in the early innings but finished losing it 5-9. The team will play Bangs on Badger Field at 7pm tonight, then Thursday through Saturday it’s the Llano tournament. The JV teams will both see action today with the JV team at Bangs for a 4:30pm game and the JV2 team at Jarrell for a 6pm game.

Badger Boys Soccer had an open last Friday and will go up against Burnet, at home, on Friday at 5:30pm. Lady Badger Soccer will also host Burnet on Friday with that game kicking off at 7:30pm.

Badger Tennis was at Fredericksburg Friday and Saturday for a tournament with 8 teams on hand. Lampasas finished in 6th place overall, but Gillis/Lawson finished 3rd in doubles and both Hunter/ Munoz and Cavalieri/McGuire finished 4th. Megan Dwamena took a 4th in singles.

Badger Track will be at the Burnet meet on Thursday. Badger golf action will see the JV Girls at Manor this morning for an 8:30am tee time. The JV Boys will be at Brownwood for a 9am tee time on Tuesday.

Badger Cheer will have both Middle School and High School tryouts on Wednesday at 3:20pm. High School tryouts will be in the LHS competition gym and LMS will be in Bozarth Fowler Gym. LHS Band members will be attending Tarleton State’s Percussion Festival today.
