LCHEC Dental Assistant Graduates

Lampasas, Texas – The Lampasas County Higher Education Center (LCHEC) has announced that five students graduated from their Dental Assistant Program on December 19th, 2016. Each student completed the course requirements and are awaiting their certification exam through UTSA.

Dental assistant students are trained in the skills necessary for employment in a dental setting including, but not limited to, developing dental x-rays, infection control protocol, oral hygiene, and assisting during a variety of dental procedures.

The 160-hour course is instructed by dental hygienist Rita Wittenburg, who has taught dental assisting for the Lampasas County Higher Education Center for three years. Each student was generously allowed hands-on training through local dentist Mark Leavell DDS.
