Lampasas Badger Boys Basketball team (19-2/7-0) is at the top of the 4A Region III District 19 standings.

District standings now look like this:

In statewide Texas Assoc. of Basketball Coaches rankings Lampasas dropped a bit to number 18, simply because of the off on Friday and the way the rankings are calculated. On the other hand, in the Max-Preps standings, Lampasas is ranked as number 1in 4A out of the 189 teams. All of that will be a little clearer after this Friday when Lampasas plays Burnet for the second time. Lampasas beat the evenly matched team by a hair’s breadth 49-48 in the first round.

The Running Badgers play Leander Glenn, there, on Tuesday at 6:30pm. Lampasas won their first round meeting 81-25. The game will be broadcast over KCYL 1450AM and on the internet at Lampasas Radio.com.   Go Badgers!

Lampasas Lady Badger Basketball (2-6) lost to Llano 30-34 last Friday and meets Leander Glenn at Leander in the second round of District play on Tuesday at 8pm. Lampasas won the first round game 44-14.

The Lometa Hornets (8-0) are still rolling on and undefeated in district basketball, beating Blanket 50-33 last Friday. They’ll play Zephyr there on Tuesday at 7:30pm.

The Lady Badger Soccer team played a tough game last week against a newly tested Burnet Bulldog squad.  The ‘dogs’ were able to put in 2 in each half with quick plays through the middle and it ended with a Badger 0-4 loss. The ladies are scheduled to play Tuesday in a home game against Gateway, beginning at 5:30pm.

Lampasas Men's Soccer beat Burnet last week 6-3! This week the guys came out on fire, says Coach Race. The team is 2-1 in district. They have a bye Tuesday and will play Jarrell at home Friday night.  

 Lady Badger Softball starts their season today with a scrimmage at Stephenville. Their first game will be against softball legend LaGrange on Feb. 6th.

Badger Baseball is practicing but won’t see action until their first scrimmage at Killeen Ellison on Feb. 7th . The first game at Gatesville on Feb. 20th.

Badger Golf kicks off Tuesday at 10am at Hancock Park for the Lampasas JV/V Boys Invitational.
