The Running Badgers Basketball Team will host the Llano Yellowjackets, coached by former Lampasas and most recently former Lometa Head Coach, Aaron Nuckles.
Llano is in the cellar in district 19, a place Aaron Nuckles is not used to. He coached the Lometa teams to championships year after year and was hired as the Llano coach to turn their struggling program around. So far, he’s found that to be a “continuing struggle.”
Coach Nuckles and his team will nevertheless be welcomed to Badger Gym at 6:30pm this evening for the beginning of the second round of district play.
The matchup is the undefeated in district team, the Running Badgers, and the yet-to-win-one Llano Yellowjackets. TheJackets would love to upset the big guys and the Badgers want to keep their unbeaten record unblemished. Go Badgers!
Lampasas Lady Badger Basketball (2-6) lost to Salado 24-44 last Friday and meet Llano in the second round of District play on Tuesday at 8pm in Badger Gym. High Scorers on Friday were Abby Martin and Morgann Schroeder with 6 and Presli Procter with 5.
The Lometa Hornets are still undefeated in district basketball, way ahead of the pack, after beating Gustine Friday, 53-20. They now go into the second round of Region III, District 19 play on Tuesday with a 7:30 or 8pm game against the Sidney Eagles at Sidney.
Lometa Lady Hornets Basketball will play Sidney at around 5-6pm at Sidney on Tuesday.
Lampasas Badger Boy’s Soccer is in district play today with Leander Glenn.
Lady Badger Soccer’s next up is Leander Glenn, today at home, at 5:30pm.
Lady Badger Softball’s first action will be a scrimmage on Jan. 30th at Stephenville. Their first game will be against softball legend LaGrange on Feb. 6th.
Badger Baseball’s first scrimmage will be at Killeen Ellison Feb. 7th and first game at Gatesville on Feb. 20th.
