Big games are on the bill in Lampasas Gyms tonight.

The Lampasas Running Badgers Basketball team is 3-0, undefeated in district play so far, after beating Burnet in a close one on Tuesday. There is now a tie at the top in District 19 between Lampasas and Liberty Hill, and one or the other will drop in the standings when the evening is over.

After Tuesday’s game Burnet dropped into a number 3 position in the 7 team district, with all of the other 4 teams now struggling to get into the race.

Tonight’s big game is at home so it will not be broadcast over KCYL Radio. If you’re a Badger fan you’ll have to be in the gym supporting your team.

The Lady Badger Basketball team is also matched up against a Liberty Hill team tonight. These opponents are tough, with a 5-0 district record that is way out front of every other team in the district. Taylor, in second place, is 3-2. Lampasas is way down the list with a 1-2 record. After tonight’s matchups around the district the standings should adjust a bit.       Go Lady Badgers!!

Lampasas Men’s soccer team lost a hard fought battle in tournament play yesterday to Lanier, 1-4, but hope to bounce back in their games this afternoon.

The Girl’s soccer team is in the Winter Classic tournament, hosted by Fredericksburg.  They lost 2-0 to St. Mary’s Hall in their first game, but rebounded against the Fredericksburg JV team to win 1-0 yesterday afternoon, with the only score coming courtesy of Tatum Morrison.  They play again this morning, and best of luck to them!
