Texas DPS in Burnet has now released information on a two fatality accident that took place on Hwy 281 four miles north of Burnet on Saturday. The accident took the lives of 26 yr oldRoselee Rodriguez of Fort Hood and six year old West Adair Jr., also in the 2003 Ford Expedition Rodriguez was driving. Both were pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Lisa Whitehead. Another passenger in the Expedition, 3 yr old Isreal Rodriguez, was taken to Dell Children's Medical Center. Both children were wearing seat belts.
The accident took place about 9:25am Saturday and involved four vehicles. It appeared to begin as a 1998 Lexus, traveling north, went off the road to the right, losing control and hitting a Dodge pickup towing a trailer. The collision pushed the pickup in the southbound lane of traffic where it collided with the Ford Expedition.
The Lexus continued north off the roadway in the ditch and ran into a 2009 Ford pickup that was exiting a private drive.
The driver of the Lexus, 22 yr old James Pratt of Manor, was taken to Seton Medical Center in Round Rock. He was not wearing a seat belt. A passenger in the Lexus, 26 yr old Candice Buckley of Belton was also taken to Seton.
The driver of the Dodge pickup, Lacy Pearson, 51 of Burnet, was taken to Seton Highland Lakes Hospital and was wearing a seat belt. Others in the pickup, 53 yr old Rhonda Pearson, Callie Pearson 22, Angel Dodds, 14 and 2 yr old Natalie Roberson were all wearing seat belts and were apparently OK.
The driver of the Ford pickup was 46 yr old Todd Weaver of Georgetown who was evidently OK.
