Badger Football fans were treated to a wild, high scoring circus of a football game last Friday night. The Waco Robinson Rockets came to town with their high scoring passing game. Waiting for them was the Badger team, equipped with a new coaching staff in Troy Rogers and team, that not only knew that game well, but considered it their new mission. The evening that ensued on Badger Field was a tit-for-tat aerial battle that saw every TD answered with another until time ran out on the clock. When it was over, the Badgers were unfortunately 2 points behind. It ended with the Rockets ahead 70-68, but the Badgers were reinvigorated with the knowledge that they can do this.
The Badgers will meet Wimberley, in another home game, on Friday at 7:30pm. Fans are ready for more of this exciting football.
Lometa Hornet Football, after winning big in their first game, lost on Friday night to Cherokee
Badger Cross Country was at the Pro-fit Invitational in Temple on Friday.
The Varsity Girls finished 2nd of the 15 teams and 83 runners. Lampasas Varsity Boys finished 2nd out of 16 teams and 85 runners with Nathan Herrin coming in 1st Place overall, followed by Connor Cummings in 2nd.
The Badger JV team finished 1st of 12 teams.
Badger Tennis will host Harker Heights on Wednesday with the first games starting at 4pm.
Lady Badger Volleyball was at Round Rock on Saturday. They split in pool play with 3 wins and 3 losses. Going into the Silver Bracket they lost to Sterling Classical 19-25, then won 25-20 and finally lost with a 15-25 game.
Tournament leaders were Rylee Davis with 25 kills and Diane Hurst with 15. Monica Garza had 28 digs and Rylee Davis had 15. Abigail Martin had 30 assists and 13 aces. Rylee Davis was awarded All Tournament honors and it was noted that Abigail Martin served an unheard of 25 points in a row to win a set all by herself.
The teams will be at Johnson City today with sub-varsity games beginning at 5pm and 6pm, then the varsity team on the court at 7pm.
Middle School Volleyball saw the 8th grade A team losing straight matches to Gatesville 19-25 and 16-25. The B team lost 22-25, then won 25-20 and lost 7-15.
The 7th grade team won the consolation bracket after losing to St. Louis in a 25-18, 11-25, 3-15 match; then beating Gatesville A 25-20, 19-25 and 15-7 and Robinson 25-11 and 27-25.
